This locomotive was refinished in March 2011 for the National Research Council. It was built by General Motors in 1958 then rebuilt in 1978. The engineer is Andrew McLean, who’s passion for locomotives inspired this project and the men working on it. It is used for testing procedures at the NRC facility in Ottawa. A thorough sanding and pressure washing was done prior to applying a prime coat and three coats of two component polyurethane.
